Austin Doula Support

As I began serving moms through photography, I noticed how much of a lack of support there was for these women. They were journeying into this big unknown and while trusting your body is a big part, it’s also overwhelming when you have no idea what’s going on.

I actually had planned to put off being a doula for a couple years until….cue covid. I wasn’t allowed into hospitals anymore as a photographer, so I felt like the Holy Spirit was saying, “Girl, it’s time…NOW.”

I am a certified birth and postpartum doula. I serve moms in all stages of motherhood from fertility to seasoned moms. I have had both a cesarean and a VBAC, so I bring that knowledge with me to the birth space. I consider myself holistic in nature, so I like to bring natural techniques to your birth.

My Philosophy

Birth is a sacred and holy space. Women were intentionally created to be the bearers of life. God created women so beautifully with the qualities to be gentle and caring and courageous. I believe women should never be exploited during their labor or delivery. Women, when birthing with a strong support team, can do anything. Birth is just as much mental as it is physical. A mother who embraces both, and is informed of what her body can and will be doing, will be empowered in her God-given design.

I believe each birth is God-Breathed

What I mean by this, is that God has a design for your birth. There are things that will be completely out of your control, and it’s our job to navigate these changes as they come.

I am…

TRAUMA INFORMED

I operate my business from the standpoint that 1 in 4 women have been abused in some way, shape, or form. I make sure that you are in control of your body and always feel like you are listened to. Birth is not the time to revisit trauma or to be re-traumatized. My job is to make you feel safe and secure to and give you all of the necessary resources to face your upcoming birth head on.

SUPPORT DURING YOUR BIRTH, REGARDLESS OF YOUR BIRTH PLAN

We all have the birth plan that we desire. But sometimes, God changes the course of our plans and we have to roll with it. My job is to support you in whatever is thrown your way. I want to make sure you feel completely supported even if you choose to get an epidural and you didn’t want to. Or you may have to have an emergency cesarean after your planned home birth. You deserve unconditional support for whatever your choices may be.

SUPPORT THROUGH EVERY STAGE

I support mothers throughout fertility, conception, pregnancy, and beyond. If you have questions, I have answers. I provide individualized care to each mother and their experience.

CHRISTIAN AND PRO-LIFE

If you haven’t noticed through my site, I am Jesus-focused and believe that there is a plan bigger than us. Your baby was perfectly planned even if you didn’t perfectly plan it. Here’s what you can expect from me:

-Prayer throughout your pregnancy, during your labor, and while you’re in postpartum

-Pro-Life. I know some pregnancies are hard to get through, but I will be with you every step of the way

-A “we’ll pray about it before acting on it” attitude

What is a Doula and what does that support look like?

Doula | dou·la

a person trained to provide advice, information, emotional support, and physical comfort to a mother before, during, and just after childbirth

Each family goes through fertility, conception, pregnancy, labor and delivery, and postpartum differently. No two journey’s are the same and each birth story is written the way it was meant to be.

My job is to make sure you are supported no matter where your journey has brought you or where you’re going. As your doula, I will support you physically, mentally, and spiritually and help prepare you for your journey ahead.

As I’m invited into each woman’s birth space, I make sure not to take it lightly. We will foster an intimate relationship and my goal is to feel more like your birthy educated friend than a random nurse in your intimate space

But how exactly will a doula benefit you? I provide all of this…and more tailored exactly to your family!

Education - Validation - Birth Planning - Advocacy - Labor Support - Encouragement - Community Resources - Lactation & Breastfeeding Support - Postpartum Planning - Infant Care - Birth Processing

What I don’t do?

Cervical checks, draw blood, take heart tones and anything clinical. I am not medically trained nor do I take the place of your OB or Midwife. My job is to provide physical, mental, and spiritual support…before, during and after your baby is born.
